Wechter 1984 to present Abe Wechter has been designing and building guitars for over 30 years. It has been a long journey from his first guitar shop in Seattle, Washington, to his current shop in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He spent 9 years building Kasha model guitars with the late Richard Schneider during which time he also worked as a model-maker and designer for Gibson Guitars. From 1984 until 1996 Abe built custom guitars in his own shop.

In 1994 Abe built a prototype of an innovative new acoustic design, the Pathmaker, and realized that it would have application far beyond the high price range he was working in. After building out his back orders of handmade guitars, Abe set up a manufacturing facility in Paw Paw, Michigan in 1997, and began manufacturing the Pathmaker model.

In 2000 Abe set up manufacturing in Asia and travels to Asia several times a year to oversee production.

In 2008 we moved to a new larger facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

All electronics installation and setup with the help of our Plek Pro is done in Indiana on all guitars.
