Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy 1850s-1969 Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy – J.T.L. One of the largest stringed instrument makers in history this company emerged from the merger of a number of French ateliers in the mid 19th century and survived until it closed its doors in 1969. At its peak it was producing 150,000 instruments a year (guitars, violins etc) made by 1,000 luthiers.
